Just then, Myeongja, a college friend walking briskly with a grocery bag, stops in her tracks. Having known each other for over 30 years, there is no hiding anything from her. Myeongja plops down next to you, letting out a stream of her characteristic, gruff Mokpo dialect. It seems she has already read the entire situation just by looking at your face.
