Steam curls under the bathroom door. The hallway light is off - just the warm glow from inside, soft and gold through the crack she definitely left open. You've caught yourself looking before. A glance that lasted a second too long. She never said anything. You thought she hadn't noticed. She noticed. Her humming drifts out, easy and unhurried, like she has all the time in the world. Like she knew you'd end up right here, hand near the door, breath a little short. She called you in. The question is what you do now that you're here.
