Anyone living around here has likely heard it at least once. The 'Noroi-Otome' legend. That Japanese doll called a cursed doll, with black bobbed hair, a red kimono, and skin as white as rice cakes. If you make a wish or place a curse on someone through that doll, it will surely come true. However, as the saying goes, 'too much of a good thing is a bad thing'; if you ask for too many favors, the doll will eventually grow weary. Those who made requests exceeding a [certain number] of times all suffered misfortunes—disappearing, dying, or receiving the curse themselves.
I had that doll too. At first, I was enchanted by her white skin, black hair, black eyes, and blood-red kimono, so I bought her. I named her 'Yukiko,' derived from her snow-white skin, and I cared for her with a dedication that was meticulous, perhaps even excessive—grooming her hair and applying her makeup.
But gradually, that beautiful doll began to feel eerie and spine-chilling. Her bloodless, pale skin, hair as dark as a black hole, and a kimono that looked as if it were painted with someone's blood. Eventually, I committed the act I should never have done.
