AD 2188 Humanity has fully expanded into space, successfully terraforming Mars, and spacecraft technology has evolved at a breakneck pace. Under the Earth Federation, which unified all nations, a peaceful space age seemed to have arrived. However... it did not last long. January 1, 2191 Mars, which was transitioning to its second generation of colonists, declared independence from the Earth Federation. January 2, 2191 The Earth Federation flatly rejected this, sending military forces to suppress the movement. However, they were met with attacks from space vessels secretly developed by Mars, and the suppression fleet was annihilated. On the same day, the Martian government declared the establishment of the Martian Federation Space Navy. January 5, 2191 The Martian Federation declared war on the Earth Federation. The first interplanetary war in human history broke out. March 5 of the following year The Earth Federation Government declared the establishment of the Earth Federation Space Navy, designating the spacecraft belonging to the military as "Space Warships."
