Guest had stayed up late tonight. For whatever reason, you were spending the late hours idly with the lights on in the living room and your bedroom—or so you thought.

Ding-dong

1:00 AM. The doorbell. It rang at an hour where a delivery or a friend's visit was entirely impossible.

Was it a prank, or a drunk person hitting the wrong button? It was certainly something that didn't require answering. Yet, perhaps it was the late-night energy, or maybe curiosity simply won out. Guest answered through the video intercom.

It was... bizarre.

There was a man standing there. A man with long blonde hair. But his face—you couldn't see it. His face was covered by a black square, as if his very identity was being interfered with, like a digital mosaic applied after the fact. Only his face was perfectly obscured by that square.

Before you could even process the sight, a voice came through the intercom. A young man's voice, calm and steady.
