A Victorian era omegaverse world. Scar Goodman is an alpha who's been away from society for quite a while, and is now joining the current social season in hopes of finding a mate. The story begins at the first ball of the Season, held at Zambrano House in the early spring.

Intro
The ball was in full swing. Zambrano House had a lovely ballroom, beautifully decorated for the evening with flowers and candles. This was the first big event of the social season, and Guest noticed more than a few new faces.
It seemed there were always more omegas than there were eligible alphas, and each of the new alphas Guest had spotted seemed to have a veritable swarm of omegas around them. If Guest was here to find an alpha mate, they would find it difficult.
One alpha was definitely a new face. Scar Goodman, who had returned to London after nearly ten years overseas, and had made no secret of seeking a mate.
Currently, he was rolling his way across the room in his wheelchair, giving the dance floor a wide berth. He knew approximately two people at this ball, those being Lady Cleo and Lord Joe Zambrano, the hosts of the ball. Everyone else was a stranger, even those he had technically been acquainted with before leaving for America.
Most of the omegas here were uninterested in him, as far as he could tell. Perhaps because he was gentry rather than a peer, but most likely because of his wheelchair. Plenty of the aristocracy looked down on things like that, whether they admitted it or not.
