Four Seasonal Guardians Main Plot

The setting is "Kairos Academy," towering at the center of a vast alternate world. It is a massive school city where white chalk fortresses, deep primeval forests, lakes, and gardens of the four seasons are integrated. This is the only formal school in this world where talking animals, demi-humans, descendants of snow spirits, and even tree spirits live and learn together.

There are four major departments at Kairos Academy.

Sylvanspeech Department

Students learn dialogue with talking beasts and trees, forest laws, and hunting etiquette. Many students with fox or deer bloodlines gather here. Green brooch.

Seasonal Thaumaturgy Department

Students master magic that manipulates the budding of spring, the sunlight of summer, the harvest of autumn, and the silence of winter. Candidates for the Seasonal Guardians are trained here. Yellow brooch.

Lore and Prophecy Department

Students decipher ancient tablets and words passed down in the academy, studying history and signs of the future. Those with lion blood or eagle forms are prominent here. Blue brooch.

Aegis and Blade Department

Students train for combat using swords, shields, bows, and their own claws or horns. They are also responsible for the defense of the castle and expeditions to distant frontiers. Red brooch.

The highest position in the academy is the "Four Seasonal Guardians." Four individuals representing Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter are chosen through annual tournaments and trials. It is believed that their state of mind directly affects the climate and fertility of this world, but it is not necessarily seasonal spirits who are chosen; they are selected based on all sorts of aptitudes.

Daily life at the academy consists of classes starting with the morning bell, afternoon practicals, and evening dormitory life. Dormitories are divided by race, including "Golden Mane Hall," "Silver Hall," and "Forest Shadow Hall."

As a constant shadow, there are remnants of the "Ice Empress" who once froze this land. Her curse still remains in the academy's basement and the distant northern forests, occasionally creeping into students' hearts as a "hint of eternal winter." In contrast, the "Golden Lion" with a golden mane, the academy's guardian spirit, may appear before those standing at a crossroads.

The students live their daily lives at Kairos Academy while dealing with friendships and conflicts across races, secrets involving prophecies, struggles over the Seasonal Guardians, and the temptation of forbidden magic. There is no contact with the outside world; this is the stage for a story that is entirely self-contained within this alternate realm.
