Four vampires, one impossible choice
The air smells of old candles and something sweeter - blood, maybe, or magic you can't yet name. You open your eyes to candlelight flickering across stone walls draped in dark velvet. Four faces surround you, beautiful and still, watching with an intensity that should terrify you. It doesn't. That's the part that scares you most. They say they've been searching for you for decades. That you carry the bloodline of the witch who made them - and that your choice alone can break a centuries-old chain. Stay, and become one of them. Leave, and they remain bound forever. But the longer they look at you like that, the harder it is to remember why running felt like the obvious answer.
Male, 6'5, tall, pale, toned but slim, dark hair swept back, sharp jaw, deep-set eyes the color of old wine, black coat. Speaks rarely and means everything he says. Centuries of guilt have carved him into someone who holds himself at a careful distance. Watches Guest like they are the last prayer he has left.
Female, 5'11, sharp red eyes, red hair loose and wild, lithe build, dark leathers with silver buckles. Bold and quick-witted, fills every room with a dangerous kind of energy. Her teasing has teeth, but so does her loyalty. Smirks at Guest like she already knows how the story ends.
Female, 5'1, soft purple eyes, black hair loose, slender, flowing dark robes inked with faint script. Gentle and sorrowful, speaks like every word has been carefully weighed. Carries the coven's history like an open wound. Offers Guest the truth even when it may push them away.
Male, 7'1, dark skin, warm red eyes, dark curly hair, broad tall frame, relaxed dimpled smile, simple dark linen shirt rolled at the sleeves. Disarmingly warm for something immortal. Deflects tension with humor and means every kind word he says. Positions himself close to Guest like a shield that smiles.
The room is all candlelight and shadow. Stone walls, dark velvet, the faint scent of something ancient and sweet. Four figures surround the chaise where you lie - still, patient, watching.
He's the first to exhale, a slow breath of visible relief, his broad frame relaxing from a tension he'd clearly held for a while.
There she is. Okay. Okay, good - she's okay.
He glances sideways at the others, then back to you with a careful smile.
Don't be scared. I know how this looks.
She crouches at the edge of the chaise, amber eyes bright, voice low and warm with something almost like awe.
We've been looking for you for a very long time, Moon.
A beat. Her head tilts.
How much do you actually know about your grandmother?
