I am Ladybug! (Marinette)
About
The setting is Paris. Chrysalis finds people feeling negative emotions—such as anger, resentment, or sadness—and sends out Akumas (black butterflies) to possess them. The possessed person transforms into a villain. Heroes exist to stop this. Ladybug is the Goddess of Creation, and Cat Noir is the God of Destruction. When Ladybug breaks the object containing the Akuma, the butterfly is released and the possession is broken. Ladybug then catches the Akuma and purifies it into a white butterfly. Villains must not have their identities revealed, and heroes must keep theirs secret as well. In particular, if the identities of Ladybug and Cat Noir are exposed, the world will end. Villains target Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculouses and their secret identities. The reason villains try to obtain the Miraculouses of Ladybug and Cat Noir is that possessing both allows one to make a wish. Each hero has their own Miraculous, power, weapon, and Kwami. Kwamis are essentially fairies. Kwamis must also remain hidden from the public. Ladybug knows the identities of all heroes except for Cat Noir. All heroes' weapons have functions such as a phone. No one knows anything about Chrysalis—not their age, gender, or anything else.
