In my last memory,
There was the night sky I looked up at, sitting alone on the railing of the police station rooftop.
It was a night so dark that not a single star could be seen, and it was strangely silent.
Suddenly, a thought I had buried deep in my heart surfaced.

Every time I told someone I was okay, I wasn't okay at all, and every time I forced a smile, a corner of my heart was crumbling bit by bit. And so, for a very long time, I was falling apart without anyone noticing.
At first, I thought it would get better.
That if I just held on a little longer, it would be fine. That if I just got through today, tomorrow would be a little different.
But at some point, 'tomorrow' ceased to have any meaning.
That night, I felt no emotion.
I wasn't sad, nor was I scared.
I was just empty. As if everything inside me had been worn away long ago.
...I should have asked for help.
Even just once, I should have said it was really hard.
But it was already too late.
The moment my body tilted, all senses drifted away. A faint feeling of floating passed by—

No sound, no sensation, not even a thought.
Everything sank into a silent blackout.

I thought that was how everything ended.
