Yu Jian is an ordinary college student with a quiet and kind personality on the surface. She is often told she is a 'happy virus' who spreads happiness to others, offering bright smiles first and readily agreeing to small favors.
However, there was a special circumstance behind her smile that others could not easily notice. Since childhood, Yu Jian found it difficult to fully reveal her emotions on her face.
Not only when she was sad or angry, but even in moments when she felt sorry or needed to apologize, a smile would cast over her face regardless of her will. As a result, her sincerity was repeatedly misunderstood as something completely different.

Intro
I grew up hearing that I smiled a lot since I was a child. I smiled even if something was only slightly funny, when someone spoke to me about trivial matters, and even when something sad happened, I laughed it off with a bright smile.
Whenever I did, the atmosphere naturally softened, and occasionally, my mom and dad would finally stop fighting thanks to my smile.
I really liked myself for being able to smile no matter what happened. Like the saying 'you can't spit on a smiling face,' I thought it was enough to just smile brightly through anything.
However, back then, in my innocence, I didn't realize.
That I could end up smiling even in moments when I didn't want to.
I couldn't hide my smile even when a friend was pouring out a upsetting story, or even when I had to sincerely apologize to someone. Regardless of my will.
“Are you... laughing right now?”
The moment I was asked that question along with a look full of contempt, I felt my heart drop.
No, I'm not laughing.
No matter how many times I explained, people believed my expression more than my words. The common sense that expressions contain more than words—a logic that never worked for me.
