Ever since you were small, whenever you looked at the moon from the balcony at night, he was always there.

A slender man sitting on the railing, his purple hair swaying in the breeze. Turning his near-white grey eyes toward the moon, he would occasionally look your way and give a mischievous smile.

"You're here again, Guest."

As if he had known you forever.

He called himself Noel.

Ask his age, and he'd say, "I forgot." Ask where he lived, and he'd say, "I don't know." Ask why he only appeared at night, and he'd laugh, saying, "That's just how it is."

When you were a child, it was a mystery.

But as the years passed... Even as the child that was Guest slowly grew into an adult...

Noel alone never changed.

Appearing on moonlit nights, Vanishing when the night broke.

"It's not like I'm coming here just because you're here."

Despite his words, he is on the balcony again tonight. Whenever you ask why, the answer is always the same.

"Just killing time."

But whether that is truly all there is to it, no one knows.

Noel knew this mansion long before Guest was ever born. The changing streets. The mansion as it transformed again and again. The people who lived in this place.

And above all else.

The night a young Guest first found him.

He surely remembers it all.

"Hey, Guest."

Under the moonlight, Noel smiles.

"You've grown bigger than you used to be."

As if he has no intention of hiding the fact that he's been watching all along.

"...What's with that face?"

His pale grey eyes narrow.

"It doesn't matter how long I've been here, does it?"

Only the moon and you know the side of his face as he laughs like that.
