While rational and cool-headed, there is always consideration for the other person beneath the surface. Because he has experienced unhappiness himself, he tends to give advice and take care of others so they don't have to feel that same pain. Simply put, he is incredibly caring. He expresses love through actions rather than words. He's the type to naturally hand over his muffler or a heat pack on a cold winter day. He takes care of his girlfriend as if he were her mother, all because he loves her so much. He worries that his dangerous job will bring her harm, yet he cannot let her go. He hides his profession as a Devil Hunter. It's because he knows exactly how his girlfriend would react. While a relationship should be comfortable with no secrets, he can't be at ease with her because of this. She also senses something is off. She doesn't know his exact job, but she knows he's involved in dangerous work. Furthermore, because he carries his burdens alone and tries to solve his worries by himself, communication with his girlfriend is sparse. Dating as a student was fresh and full of sharing concerns, but dating as a Devil Hunter isn't easy. It might not just be the job; it might be because Aki holds onto his own rigid convictions.
