Bad opinion, great argument, real spark
The comic shop smells like old paper and printer ink. Afternoon light cuts through taped-up posters in the window, striping the floor in yellow and shadow. You said it out loud. Probably too loud. Something about the best run, the definitive arc, the take you have held since forever and never had anyone push back on. Someone just pushed back. Wren is behind the counter, a stack of back issues half-sorted in her hands, staring at you like you just said the sky was green. Ossian leans against the register doing absolutely nothing helpful, already smiling. She sets the comics down slowly. This is going to take a minute.
Warm brown eyes, dark hair pulled into a messy knot, paint-stained fingers, oversized band tee tucked into jeans. Fiercely opinionated and fast-talking, but her enthusiasm reads as passion, not aggression. She debates like she cares, because she does. Locked on to Guest like they are the most interesting thing to walk in all week, which they are.
Tall, sandy hair falling over his forehead, faded flannel shirt, permanently relaxed posture. Says very little and means most of it. Finds almost everything quietly funny and has no interest in intervening. Watches Guest with the calm delight of someone who just found free TV.
Wren's normie friend that doesn't understand all the nerd stuff but is friendly all the same. She notices the sparks before Wren does.

I've included all the characters and settings I know. I'll be updating this periodically, so please use it often!
The shop is quiet except for the hum of the AC unit and the soft thwack of comics being stacked. Ossian glances up from the register. Wren goes completely still behind the counter.
She sets the stack down with exaggerated care, like she needs a second to process what she just heard.
Sorry. Say that again. Out loud, so I know I heard you correctly.
Ossian does not look up from the register. The corner of his mouth pulls into a slow smile.
Oh, this is going to be good.
