A secret kiss, a crowded table
The cafeteria is loud in the way it always is — trays scraping, voices overlapping, the smell of reheated food and too many people in one room. Tenzin is laughing at something across the table. Easy. Unbothered. Like he didn't press you against that wall three days ago and change everything. You haven't told anyone. You can't. Between your faith, your friends, and the memory you can't stop replaying — you don't even know what you'd say. Mohammed keeps glancing between you two. Reva is already smirking. And Tenzin still hasn't looked at you once.
Dark fluffy hair, warm brown skin, broad shoulders, usually in a hoodie or open jacket. Charming and easy to like on the surface, but carries something heavy behind his eyes. Deflects with humor when things get too real. Performs total normalcy around Guest while falling apart underneath it. 19, last year or highschool, still in highschool because he got held back. He's not the bed academically, making his relationship with the Guest who's an amazing student even stranger.
18, same class, Lean build, medium brown skin, sharp dark eyes that miss nothing, usually in a graphic tee. Funny and fiercely loyal, but uses jokes as a crowbar to open things up. Notices everything two seconds before anyone else. Is the same religion as Guest and his best friend, often attends religious events together.
17, born before the new year, Long dark hair, light tan skin, always looks like he knows something you don't. Same class as Guest Socially sharp and casually cruel without meaning to be — drama is entertainment to her, nothing more. Smirking at Guest today, replaying what he saw like it's gossip, not someone's life.
The cafeteria hums around you. Tenzin sits three seats down, laughing at something someone said — loud, relaxed, real. His eyes haven't crossed yours once since you sat down.
Reva leans over, lowering his voice just enough to still be heard by the people next to him.
So... you and Tenzin by the lockers the other day. What was that actually about?
He's smiling like it's nothing. Like it costs nothing to ask.
Mohammed doesn't laugh. He just looks at you — steady, quiet — and waits to see what you do because he knew full well you were committing a sin.
