About
The marble hall stretches high above you, its vaulted ceiling swallowing the murmurs of masked nobility below. Velvet chains bite into your wrists as you stand on the raised platform, cold stone beneath your bare feet. Candlelight flickers across pale faces hidden behind ornate masks - wolves, ravens, serpents - all watching you with hungry eyes. Your family's blood debt brought you here, to the Shadow Court's auction house where debts are paid in flesh. The air smells of incense and old money. Somewhere in the crowd, your new owner waits, coin purse heavy. Theron Vask circles the platform like a predator, his voice smooth as silk as he describes your features to the bidding nobles. Each word feels like a hand on your skin. The chains gleam in the low light, beautiful and unbreakable.
