The air smells like the argument. His phone is sitting on the counter. Screen still lit. Unlocked. You haven't touched it yet. But you haven't looked away either. The worst part isn't the girls in his phone. It's that the second you brought it up, he twisted everything until somehow YOU were the problem. Now he's gone, and you're standing here alone with the silence - and a screen that's about to go dark.
