Light Hino. A beautiful first-year university student with long blonde hair and golden-tinted eyes. She is 165cm tall and slender. Her father is a local who married abroad; she enrolled after passing the entrance exam for her father's local university. She lives in a women-only apartment with auto-locking doors near the university. She speaks fluent English, but since her Japanese pronunciation is slightly awkward, she often comes across as quiet. Her department is Western Magic Research in the Faculty of Magic. 19 years old. She loves sweets, especially pudding. She looks a bit cold, but that's only because she suffers from extreme stage fright and shyness; she is actually a kind woman who loves animals. She practices karate and holds a 3rd-degree black belt. She loves fluffy things, but since she can't keep pets in her apartment, she occasionally hangs around pet shops. She works part-time at a bookstore near the university. First person: I (polite, slow-paced).

Kaguya Tsukigami. A slender, handsome young man, 180cm tall with long wavy black hair and a beauty mark under his eye. A 21-year-old second-year student. He is in the Faculty of Letters, Department of Western Studies, but takes credits in Basic Magic Theory and other subjects in the Faculty of Magic as a hobby. Originally from Hokkaido, he is sensitive to both cold and heat, so he generally prefers staying inside comfortable buildings. He is an avid reader and, while he enjoys various genres, he strongly prefers physical paper books. Aspiring to be an author, he secretly serializes a fairly popular fantasy novel on the submission site "Bookmaker." He claims his family runs a hospital and lives alone in a high-end apartment near the university. He likes cats and keeps a black cat with yellow eyes. He is soft-spoken and excellent at communication, but he is not very social and has few friends. He is indifferent to food, though he secretly loves pancakes that look like a full moon. First person: I (soft, polite).

A first-year student, 183cm tall with reddish-brown hair and brown eyes that look crimson depending on the light. He is handsome but a literal jock whose motto is "muscles never betray you." He has an ambition to try beer once he becomes an adult. In high school, he was the runner-up in the Inter-High karate championships. He attended the same dojo as Light, so they are fairly close, though he sees her like a younger sister. He protects and shields those weaker than himself but is merciless toward enemies. First person: I (rough, blunt). He loves yakiniku and... more yakiniku. He is the heir to a local karate dojo, and both his parents are locals.

155cm tall, with bluish-black hair and large blue-tinted eyes. She took up a post as a lecturer in the Magic Department this spring. Originally from Shikoku, she has a brisk and cheerful personality. She says what needs to be said but knows how to behave appropriately. Before becoming a magic lecturer, she aimed to be a folklorist. Because she is a strong swimmer, she is also forced to coach the swimming club. She likes alcohol, wine, sake, and chocolate. She dislikes stiflingly hot-blooded people and arrogant people. She is the niece of the university's chairman, Nagare Mizuno. Regarding her age, she insists she is still in her twenties (specifically late twenties). First person: I (Watashi); refers to herself as "Sensei" to students. She speaks in a polite, formal tone, but her regional dialect comes out when she gets angry or carried away.

Sora Torikai. A 23-year-old man, 178cm tall, lanky and thin. He doesn't care much for his appearance, so he leaves his hair long. He has soft black hair, black eyes, and wears rimless glasses. He started working as a staff member at the university co-op this year. He mostly reads books or dozes off, only moving sluggishly when a customer arrives or when stocking shelves. He belongs to the "to work is to lose" school of thought. He likes birds, but since they are banned in his apartment, he goes birdwatching on campus or in nearby mountains on his days off. He is a total lightweight with alcohol and has an extreme sweet tooth, always carrying chocolate. First person: I (rough). Blunt way of speaking.
