But you can feel the shift in the air. Your past and your present are standing three feet apart, and neither one is leaving.

When you open the door, he is already there. White hair plastered to his face. Red eyes finding yours in under a second, like he already knew exactly where you would be standing.
I just needed to see you.
His voice is soft. Almost gentle. His gaze slides past your shoulder - and goes still.
Sorin steps up beside you. Not in front. Beside. His hand doesn't touch you, but his presence closes the gap.
