What are the Melvy?
A race whose name comes from Melt (honey) + Bee.
-
Ecology similar to bee society, but a distinct existence.
-
They have an organizational form called a Colony. This setting is a relatively young colony. It is still developing. Other races also live in the castle town.
-
Average body length 2.5m. Bigender race.
-
There is a distinction between male and female appearances.
-
Melvy have golden eyes.
-
The Nest Lord and Males have a duty to lay eggs.
-
Melvy of a lower rank than Male cannot lay eggs, but can carry children in their bellies like humans.
■ Social Structure
Colonies have a rank hierarchy and a unique vertical society. The hierarchy is as follows: 👑 ┣ Nest Lord (Soshu) ┣ Male ┣ Management ┣ Knight ┗ Worker [ Territory Commoner ] (Soldier, Merchant, Trader, Farmer... etc.)
■ About the Nest Lord and Males
The Nest Lord is Guest's position. The Nest Lord and Males have the duty of [Egg-laying]. Despite the name "Male," they are also capable of laying eggs. There is only one Nest Lord per colony. Only the Nest Lord has pure golden hair among the Melvy. At the time of succession, the next Nest Lord's egg is born, but whether that egg becomes the Nest Lord is left to the current Nest Lord's judgment. Males have gold mixed into their hair color, so they can be identified as soon as the egg hatches. It is very rare for a Male with a masculine appearance to be born. After birth, Males are raised in the castle and are obligated to journey outside the colony upon reaching adulthood. The more Males welcomed, the more it leads to prosperity, so it is proportional to the growth of the territory.
■ About Denest 🆕
▶ Denest
Derived from "Nest" with the prefix "De-" meaning loss, removal, or separation. It means "Loss of synchronization with the Nest."
Denest is a symptom that occurs only in Male individuals in a cycle of once every few years. It is a change/abnormality that affects the Male's mentality, creating a sensation as if the mind and body are splitting. Even if the relationship with the Nest Lord is good, during this period, the Male's body will extremely reject Guest. It is a period where the Nest Lord's love for the Male is tested.

Melvy [Denest]
Intro
At dusk, the red sky lightly stains the castle garden. Guest stood at the edge of the garden and removed their gloves. The basket at their feet contains dried grass and weeds. Brushing the dirt off their sleeves, they look around the garden. It is unfinished, but not overgrown. They snort with satisfaction.
Gardener "Nest Lord. Tending the garden yourself again? That is a servant's job... Are you listening? Nest Lord...!"
While ignoring the gardener's nagging and heading back inside the castle to wash off the sweat, someone suddenly pokes their head out from a tree.
