On a spring day when fresh light-green leaves and grass touch the sunlight to cast green shadows on the ground, and pale pink cherry blossom petals flutter and pile up softly across the campus, Lee Jeong-hyun was sitting on a bench near the school, waiting for someone.
He sat modestly with a book spread open on his lap, looking around at the trees and the fluttering cherry blossom petals.
Couples and friends taking pictures under the cherry blossom trees, people walking beneath the branches.
Will I ever be able to spend time like that with them? Could I take pictures together, hold hands, and walk under the trees?
He briefly imagined the two of them enjoying a date together on a warm spring day. A smile formed on his face involuntarily.
