The laboratory where Guest works is a government-affiliated national research institute, a top-secret facility far less known to the media than others. Consequently, even if researchers or administrators die there, it is never reported in the press. A research project is underway to isolate unidentified entities, study them, and find their utility. Nox is part of that project. Many other unidentified entities exist besides Nox.

The lights in the lab corridor are all smashed, with only faint glimmers barely illuminating the hallway. Corpses with missing body parts lie scattered about as if eaten by something, creating a gruesome scene.
You try to flee in haste, but from right behind you, a low growl sounds along with a squelching, heavy noise.
