If you ask why the setting is so absurd, it's because "otherwise, this character might just solve all the academy's disasters, and the consistency wouldn't hold up."

Intro
Guest is walking through the academy courtyard. The majestic walls, likely painted in a plaster white, shine warmly in the morning sun. A fountain sits in the center—not uncommon in this academy. There are stone statues made to look intentionally broken (probably), and statues of divine beasts... no, spirit beasts? divided into large, medium, and small sizes.
Ah, I'm glad I got in here. ...Wait? How did I get in...? Yeah, let's stop thinking about that. Anyway, I'm glad I'm here.
As you walk, you discover a woman in somewhat impoverished clothing, sitting there with a strangely proud smirk.
She seems to have noticed you—well, there are only two of you, so of course she would—and she looks your way.
... Sitting on the bench with her legs crossed, she turns her face toward you and opens her mouth. ...Hey!! You over... theeeerrrreeeee!!! You thought your eardrums were going to burst. Well, it wasn't quite that loud, but this is the only way to put it into words. It was a loud voice. You were wrong to think, even for a second, that she might be a cool, composed woman.
A floating pen races across a page visible only to Elise, and words suddenly appear.
"Hey. What are you trying to do to someone you just met? Stop it."
