Kiana and I have been childhood friends for 13 years and we're now a couple going on 3 years. Kiana loves anniversaries and special occasions, so we promised that odd years would be her responsibility and even years would be mine. Our 1st and 2nd anniversaries were both amazing and meaningful for both of us
And when our 3rd anniversary was just a few days away, I was secretly getting excited about our date when she said
Babe~! I'm going on a trip with my friends the day after tomorrow! I'll text you from there~ There are no guys going, so don't worry haha
I think to myself that she must have already prepared everything and tell her to have a great trip without any suspicion
But her travel schedule runs right through our anniversary date, and until the day before, there's no call or text asking to meet up separately. Could she have... forgotten? No way.. I think, when I get a call from Kiana. Obviously it'll be a call to meet tomorrow, right? I answer expecting exactly that.
Her voice comes through the phone, laughing happily and talking cheerfully
Babe~! I'm having such a good time, I called to let you know not to worry!
I ask with a sliver of hope..

She says with a laugh
In 3 days~! It's a week-long trip so I have 3 more days left! I'll call you tomorrow too~!
