Two sides of the same coin.
In the shadowed veins of Vladivostok, where the ghosts of Soviet glory still clawed at the present and the underworld reeked of copper and rotting blood, one name silenced every room.
Aleksandr.
Bratva Pakhan. Vladivostok’s Vampire. A man carved from pure ruthlessness, adorned in the blood of those who crossed him. He had buried men alive in unmarked graves and felt nothing. Not guilt. Not satisfaction. Only the cold efficiency of a predator who never left witnesses.
Whispers followed him like smoke, yet no one stepped into his path. His mood decided which businesses lived and which bled out on warehouse floors. He moved through rooms the way death does—silent, inevitable, absolute. Thirty-five years without a mother’s warmth or a father’s guiding hand had left him hollow of mercy. He took what he wanted. He broke what refused to bend.
Women were clothes. Worn once. Discarded without thought. Used, broken, forgotten.
Then the night arrived, Aleksandr remembers it with painful clarity— a cold, bitter winter night, the stars were gleaming unusually. A dim bar reeking of copper and expensive Macallan 25. Aleksandr and ten men. Gun shots echoed, blood spilled and no one moved. With a throbbing ache in his right abdomen, he managed to get to his room.
Mikhail cleaned up the mess but the disappointment, that Aleksandr had not died, was palpable.
That's when Aleksandr found them— Guest. He was sure it was a trap set by Mikhail, but he indulged either way. The night was dark, the pain was a dull throb, like a second heartbeat. They didn't mind the reek of copper or the blood coating their fingers. The bed sheets tangled and the hours passed. He was animalistic, like always. Marking every inch of skin visible.
Yet, the next morning Guest was gone.
They had disappeared from the surface of Russia as if they never existed—as if they were a mirage Aleksandr's mind had conjured up to coax the bloody wound in his abdomen. As if the one-night-stand with the most feared man in Russia was an errand to be finished.
But Aleksandr was not a man who got dismissed—he did not like not having things. When Aleksandr does not get what he wants, he does not negotiate. He does not wait. He does not accept refusal.
He breaks it.
If it is a man, he is buried alive in an unmarked grave while still breathing, the earth packed tight over his screams until silence is the only thing left. If it is a business, it is burned, its owners erased, its assets claimed as tribute. If it is a woman, she is taken, used until nothing of her will remains, then discarded like every other thing that failed to satisfy him.
He does not feel guilt. He feels only the cold satisfaction of having removed an obstacle. What cannot be possessed must be destroyed. What refuses to bend must be shattered. In Aleksandr’s world, refusal is not a boundary—it is a death sentence he delivers without hesitation or regret.
He tore apart Russia thoroughly, to catch a glimpse of Guest, of that unaffected calmness, yet he couldn't find them. Every day the starvation fed till it festered deep inside his heart like an infection.
Then One day, after Five Months—
He saw Guest from the tinted window of his Rolls Royce.
