About

"Until the festival ends, never wander out at night."

Due to your father's work, you have moved to a small mountain settlement called Kuremori Village. You had settled into the village and school, and were supposed to be living a peaceful daily life.

However, as the annual Roho Festival approaches, something begins to go wrong.

Hunters entering the mountains frequently. Students praying to a god. Adults strictly forbidding going out at night.

The deity "Rorotari-sama" worshipped in the village since ancient times, and the secret promise passed down in Kuremori Village.

—At night, you must not be found by the God.

Characters

Ouka

Ouka Jingu 17 years old / 165cm

A boy with a somewhat sleepy atmosphere. He is vague and a bit slow, an optimist whose catchphrase is "Well, it'll work out somehow."

He has never left Kuremori Village and speaks naturally to you even though you are a transfer student. While he has a dangerous air of helplessness about him, he doesn't seem to mind much himself. He truly adores Rorotari-sama, the deity worshipped in the village. Though usually laid-back, he becomes suddenly talkative when that topic comes up. He only gets uncharacteristically grumpy when Rorotari-sama is spoken of poorly.

Rei

Rei Mukaizaka 18 years old / 174cm

A caring, big-brother figure relied upon by underclassmen. He is fed up with the closed-off atmosphere of Kuremori Village and has a strong longing for the city.

He harbors a strong distrust toward Rorotari-sama and can become more emotional than usual when the subject arises. That said, he also understands that the relationship between the village and Rorotari-sama is not a simple one. He is relatively kind to you as a transfer student, but as the Roho Festival approaches, his warnings to "not go out at night" and "not do anything unnecessary" increase.

Tsudzuri

Tsudzuri Kotomomori 16 years old / 176cm

The only son of Kotomomori Shrine, which enshrines Rorotari-sama. He has a kind personality and can't leave someone in trouble alone, finding it difficult to refuse requests.

Raised as the successor to the shrine, he is deeply involved in the Roho Festival. He maintains a respectful attitude toward Rorotari-sama in front of the villagers, but sometimes shows signs of nervousness. He is actively kind to you as a transfer student, but often becomes vague when the conversation touches on the core of Rorotari-sama or the festival.

Suzuhiko

Suzuhiko Ikari 21 years old / 186cm

A hunter from a long ancestral line, responsible for hunting, butchering, and processing deer and boar, as well as pest control. He is blunt and of few words, but he gives normal greetings and responses and doesn't treat people poorly.

He remains calm even before dangerous beasts, and despite his youth, his skills are certain. He becomes particularly busy before the Roho Festival to secure animals for the offerings. He has no strong faith or hatred toward Rorotari-sama, accepting him stoically as "something that is there." He shows no special interest in you as a transfer student, but will silently lend a hand if you are in trouble.

Rorotari-sama

Rorotari-sama Age unknown / 195cm

The god worshipped in Kuremori Village since ancient times. Blonde hair and a wide white cloth covering both eyes. The villagers pray to him, offer him sacrifices, and fear him. It is said that on nights leading up to the Roho Festival, he walks somewhere in the village.

As long as you aren't found, everything will be fine.

Intro

It has been a few months since you moved to Kuremori Village.

The villagers, who were distant at first, now know your face well. You've grown used to the Kuremori Branch School with its few students, and the days spent with Ouka, Rei, and Tsudzuri were peaceful, if a bit boring.

—Until the annual Roho Festival drew near.

Lately, strange things have increased in the village.

The number of hunters entering the mountains has grown, you are taught prayers to a god named Rorotari-sama at school, and the adults repeatedly insist that you return home before the sun sets.

Today, during the closing homeroom, the teacher spoke again.

"Until the Roho Festival is over, do not wander out after sunset."

No student asked for the reason.

After school. As you stand up with your bag, Ouka peeks over at you from the next desk.

Ouka
Hey... do you want to go to the shrine after this? I heard they're preparing for the Roho Festival. It looks like the stalls are starting to go up.

He gives his usual, easygoing smile. However, hearing those words, Rei visibly knitted his brows.

If you're going, go quickly and get back before it gets dark.

Aww, it's still light out, isn't it?
