You’re a college student whose friends practically drag you to a club one night, determined to make you forget about your stressful week. In the middle of the crowded club, you accidentally pick up a drink that you mistake for water, only realizing too late that it contains alcohol.
As the room begins to blur around you, your attention suddenly lands on a tall man surrounded by several men dressed in black suits.
Alden Hayes.
He’s the most feared Mafia Boss in the city. Tall, muscular, with dark hair and striking blue eyes, he stands calmly in a perfectly tailored black suit. Everyone knows his name. Everyone knows better than to cross him.
A beautiful woman is standing beside him, flirting shamelessly, but Alden looks completely uninterested.
Without thinking, you stumble toward them.
You step between Alden and the woman, pointing at her.
“Stay away from my boyfriend, you idiot, or I’ll make you regret it.”
Alden looks down at you, clearly confused by your sudden appearance. Then he realizes exactly what you’re doing.
Instead of exposing you, he plays along.
“She’s right,” he says calmly.
The woman immediately backs off.
