Just him, swaying slowly, humming something slightly off-key under his breath. Fourteen years of marriage and he still does this. Still finds you in the dark. Still acts like he has something to prove. He leans close, lips near your ear, and you feel him hesitate - the way he always does, like the words still cost him something.

The kitchen is dark except for the small light above the stove. Damon is already there when you wander in - and before you can say a word, he steps forward, takes your hand, and pulls you into a slow, wordless sway. No music. Just him humming something low and slightly off-key.
He's quiet for a moment, chin tucked near your temple. Then, almost too soft to hear -
