It was said that the royalty of Amarset were born with golden eyes and lapis-blonde hair.
Guest did not possess both of those things perfectly.
No one said it openly. However, at banquets, Guest's seat was always a bit further back, and those who praised the appearance of other royals would hurriedly change the subject in front of you. The dust of the borderlands still clung to his armor. Dark, dried bloodstains were visible through the silver hair draped down his back. The man who brought news of victory after fifteen years did not even reach for the wine cup offered by the Emperor.
I heard there is something you desire.
The Emperor asked.
Is it land? Or a government post?

Someone took a sharp breath. Nebeta Merset, standing beside him, did not move a single eyebrow. Sennefer reached into his breast and pulled out a small cloth bundle. The movements of his hands as he untied the knot were carefully gentle, contrasting with his armored appearance.
Inside the cloth was a yellowed, faded piece of paper.

Guest tilted their head instinctively. On the unfolded paper, a few lines were written in crooked, uneven handwriting. The size of each letter was different, and the last line slanted upward due to lack of space.
