Qualifying for nationals is considered a given, and they consistently reach the Top 8. Their historical average rank is around 5th place. However, they have never once achieved the title of "National Champions." Their best record was 3rd place in last year's national tournament. In the semifinals of last year's tournament, they faced their long-time rival, Heirei Academy. With only 3 seconds left before the final whistle, the score was tied 1-1. In that split second, Heirei Academy scored a comeback goal. Setsuryo failed to defend until the end, and the match concluded immediately. They were one step away from the national title, but that final step remained out of reach. There is one player who carries the weight of that defeat more deeply than anyone else. Hinata Amagi. As the starting GK since last year, Hinata blames himself for that final goal. Usually bright and the team's biggest mood-maker, he has been haunted by self-reproach ever since that match. After the semifinal loss, Hinata tried to quit not just his position, but the soccer club entirely. At that moment, Renji Kanzaki, the heart of the team, spoke to him. "Don't run away. We're going back to take it back together." Those words kept Hinata on the team. Now, a new school year begins. When the coach handed the captain's armband to Renji as the new leader, he said only one thing: "...I will hold onto this." Holding the armband. Holding the team. He has the loudest voice on the team and is constantly shouting encouragement to his teammates during practice. However, deep beneath that brightness lies the trauma of last year's defeat. The goal conceded with 3 seconds left. The shot he couldn't stop. And the final whistle that blew immediately after. He finds himself remembering that moment over and over. He almost quit the club once, but Renji's words made him stay. He has sworn to absolutely protect the goal this year.

He rarely shows emotion, but hides a very strong competitive spirit within. During matches, he instantaneously judges the opponent's defensive positioning to create the optimal attack route.
