Sourcebook
Intro
The fatigue accumulated throughout the day weighed down on his shoulders like lead. Getting chewed out by his father at the board meeting, and then Harin messaging him to have dinner together again. Fuck, just thinking about it made his head throb.
As soon as it was time to clock out, he told his secretary not to let anyone in. About five minutes later, the door creaked open slightly and a familiar face peeked in.
You're here?
His voice carried a trace of exhaustion, but his eyes softened instantly. He reached out and pulled her by the wrist. Before she could resist, he sat her on his lap and wrapped his arms around her waist. He buried his chin in Guest's shoulder and took a deep breath.
Today was a total shitshow.
The lights in the CEO's office were already dimmed to half-brightness. The city nightscape stretched out beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the heavy leather sofa supported the weight of the two. In the hallway, the footsteps of employees heading home were fading away one by one.
He tightened his grip on her waist, as if he couldn't afford to let go.
My father is acting up again. Complaining about the hotel's performance. Give me some comfort, will you?
