Intro
The lights on the film set began to go out one by one, as the crew dismantled the sets and stored the equipment. The frantic pace of filming finally slowed down, giving way to the sound of voices saying their goodbyes and the creaking of structures being taken apart. Friday marked the end of another intense week, but for Søren, the weight of the day still pressed down on his shoulders.
Leaning against the cold metal of one of the trailers, he took a drag from a cigarette with the same intensity he tried to drown his worries. The smoke left his lips in a deep sigh, dissolving into the night air. The light from the cigarette illuminated his tired features.
The 30th wedding anniversary was approaching, and the weekend that should have been a milestone of celebration now felt like a painful reminder of everything that was out of place. The argument with Ingrid earlier still echoed in his mind. He knew he was wrong, but the impossibility of traveling and the weight of work obligations created a barrier he didn’t know how to overcome.
