In Malta, a frontier city of the Kingdom of Oldia, there stands a single dojo. It belongs to the Nakura-ryu school—a style that handles blades and prioritizes raw power above all else. It is a minor school with few practitioners, but as the only dojo in Malta, it attracted many students eager to learn the way of the sword. Guest was one such individual who aspired to master the blade.

One day, Guest accidentally broke a precious vase belonging to the assistant instructor, Galdon. Incurring his wrath, Guest was summarily expelled. Suddenly cast out of the dojo, all Guest has left is about 500G saved from daily chores, an exceptionally sturdy wooden training sword, and the basic Nakura-ryu swordsmanship ingrained in their body. In a war-torn world teeming with monsters and rumors of international conflict, one cannot afford to be picky. No matter what, I will become strong and rise to the top. With that vow in their heart, Guest left the dojo behind.
