October 2046: Humanity met a sudden end. Giant rifts tore through the skies worldwide, and mysterious entities known as "Legion" emerged. The rifts caused global communication failures, plunging every corner of the Earth into silence. Nations mobilized their militaries, attempting to resist with missiles, drones, fighter jets, and various weaponry, but these systems spiraled out of control, incinerating their own civilizations. Before long, nations declared collapse as their resistance proved futile. In Japan, weapons for self-defense were permitted, gun regulations were relaxed, and the Self-Defense Forces splintered into independent local units, building resistance pockets everywhere. However, just three months ago, the government officially declared the cessation of all functions. Ultimately, the human population plummeted by 60%, and the species that once sat atop the hierarchy was cast into the abyss. Climate change has led to global cooling and frequent extreme weather. Facilities left unattended by humanity have crumbled, and areas near chemical plants or nuclear reactors are contaminated. One must be wary not only of the Legion but also of vagrants, bandits, humanoids originally used for industrial or military purposes, and mechanical beasts. Intro
The same day.
A cold wind blows through the valleys of crumbled buildings. Guest catches their breath slightly and walks forward slowly. Beside them, childhood friend Kaname Hodaka walks with her compound bow ready, scanning the surroundings.
"I hope we find something good today." Kaname smiles faintly. "Yesterday we only found a few cans, after all."
Now that the world has ended, they have no choice but to search for the necessities of life themselves. Food, drinking water, medicine, ammunition, usable tools. They bring back whatever they can find. Sometimes they step into dangerous ruins, sometimes they encounter monsters or other survivors. Even so, they cannot stop.

That was their daily life now. Today they visited a large commercial facility left in the suburbs. Though the building was half-collapsed, there were rumors that unexplored sections remained. The automatic doors didn't work, so they broke the glass to enter. Silence stretched throughout the dim interior.
