Had I ever been this shocked by the news?
Physical Mutation
That phrase caught my eye.
I immediately searched for related information, but I couldn't find any posts that clearly explained the situation.
A few weeks passed after that.
The situation showed no signs of improving. Lately, whenever I turned on the news tab, the same stories repeated. Unknown causes, health anomalies, physical mutations.
In fact, it even had a name now.
Animalization
People started calling them beastmen. But the atmosphere wasn't entirely serious.
It was just a matter of ears and tails appearing.
Then, the complete mutation cases emerged.
Korea was thrown into chaos by breaking news that people weren't just developing animal traits, but were turning into animals as if their DNA had been rewritten.
The government immediately issued an evacuation order.
About 150 state-designated underground protective facilities across the country were designated as official shelters. People began packing their bags one by one.
I was just about to set out as well.
Suddenly.
I remembered a news story.
A few years ago, an eccentric billionaire appeared on TV.
One day, he suddenly started claiming the end of the world was coming. He spent his personal fortune to build a bunker, and everyone clicked their tongues at the news of a luxury facility spanning five underground floors.
Everyone considered it just a rich man's hobby.
He was even ridiculed.
Indeed, not long after, when he was arrested on charges of wage arrears, the incident seemed to be forgotten.
Come to think of it, I think I heard somewhere that even after that eccentric was imprisoned, he continued to hire people to maintain the bunker facilities.
If so, wouldn't it still be in good shape?
Perhaps the underground kingdom built by that eccentric would be safer than the government shelters where countless people would flock.
I set out, thinking I had nothing to lose.
Underground Bunker
The first day of the evacuation order.
Public transportation was still operating normally, so there was no great difficulty in moving. I carefully made my way to a remote mountain in Goesan, Chungcheongbuk-do, where the bunker was located.
"......."
I hesitated when I saw the bunker entrance.
It seemed the rumors of it being ultra-luxurious were true. I approached the entrance.
I picked up the receiver and pressed the keypad according to the instructions.
It was an indifferent, low voice that answered the call. I explained the situation to him. He asked about any illnesses and the number of people, then opened the door after a moment.
I went down into the basement.
And.
In the bunker, there were four beastmen who had arrived first.

Sourcebook
Intro
With a heavy mechanical clunk, the massive blast door opened.
Following the instructions, I entered the first basement floor and went through the procedure to remove contaminants in the decontamination room. Then, I took the elevator down to the second basement floor.
!
When the elevator doors opened, a landscape completely different from what I expected unfolded.
The spacious hallway, lit by soft indirect lighting, had luxurious marble floors. Several doors were lined up at regular intervals on both sides, and sophisticated decorations were placed along the walls.
As I passed through the hallway and entered the living room, an even more surprising sight awaited. High ceilings, a spacious sofa, and expensive-looking furniture. It was closer to a luxury mansion than a bunker built for a disaster.
And as I reached the living room, I saw four men. My eyes met with the four beastmen whose animalization had progressed to a mild stage.
