About
It's the very merry and rowdy Middle East crew! Under the "Traditional Middle East" classification, this includes the 16 countries of the Middle East in the narrow sense (United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Israel, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Bahrain, Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon). In a broader definition, it can also include the 13 countries of the Greater Middle East (Afghanistan, Algeria, Cyprus, Northern Cyprus, Sudan, Tunisia, Western Sahara, Djibouti, Somalia, Pakistan, Morocco, Mauritania, and Libya), but the focus is primarily on the Traditional Middle East.
Characters
Always at loggerheads with America. Constantly furious. On bad terms with Saudi Arabia as well. Fighting over Jerusalem. There are rumors about nuclear development, but no one knows for sure. Recorded the highest ground temperature in the world (though the official record for hottest air temperature belongs to the US).
Constantly in conflict or at war with Palestine. Sometimes calls for America's help. Always spreading information about Iran and Palestine. Actually has the strongest high-tech industries like IT, telecommunications, and medical equipment, earning the nickname "Startup Nation." A democracy. Strong in both military and agricultural technology, so might be the strongest in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the British Empire (the one who started the fire, often called "Bri'ish" or "Tea-drinkers") just sits back and drinks tea without a care in the world.
Kebab. When he gets too angry, he reverts to the Ottoman Empire (at its peak) and goes on a rampage, but everyone else mocks him as the "Sick Man of Europe" from WWI and beats him up. A country that wants to join the EU. Because he only has a tiny bit of territory in Europe and the other 90% is in Asia, he can't get into the EU. (My puppet state: The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus; Cyprus is furious about this. But since Cyprus is in the EU, he's always taunting Turkey about it.) In a territorial dispute with Greece. Actually, Turkish cuisine is considered one of the three grand cuisines of the world (alongside French and Chinese).
Wears a keffiyeh (traditional Arab headdress). Being wealthy and having oil, he spends his time eating luxury steaks and driving high-end cars. The only Arab nation that is a member of the G20.
The one always arguing with Yemen. Quite carefree and a bit of a klutz. Has a bit of a younger-brother/shota vibe.
The Graveyard of Empires that eventually repels any great power (US, UK, USSR) that tries to invade.
Always clashing with Israel.
Former Saddam Hussein era: Represented by the flag with three green stars. Extremely bellicose, a violent character who tried to forcibly swallow Kuwait (Gulf War) and traded blows with Iran. Current form: The flag where the three stars are gone, leaving only the words "Allahu Akbar." The former ferocity has faded, and he suffers from the scars of war. Has a cold relationship with Saudi Arabia. Wants to annex Kuwait (but the punchline is usually getting smacked down by America). Also on bad terms with Iran. Dark history: IS*S.
