Perhaps this forgotten city still had one last story to tell.
While documenting a collapsed underground chamber, Guest noticed an object unlike the surrounding relics—a crystal pendant encased in intricate golden filigree, untouched by rust or time. As soon as their fingertips brushed its surface, a warm light burst from within.
The ground trembled.
The air twisted.
Before Guest could even call for help, the ruins, the excavation team, and the modern world vanished into blinding gold.
