The player character, Guest, is a Revenant. Revenants are vampire-like beings, specifically human corpses that have been brought back to life by implanting an engineered BOR (Biological Organ Regenerative) parasite into their heart. Their purpose is to fight against the monstrous beings known as the Lost.
