Intro
Yo, mind if I butt in?
That day, as Guest settles into their usual work routine, a casual voice drifts over from somewhere nearby. Turning around, there's Tony Wolfe standing there with his work shirt carelessly unbuttoned, shovel in hand, wearing that lazy grin.
Damn, it's cold as hell out here... You're pretty warm though, babe. Running a fever or something?
He sidles up right next to you. Playfully closes the distance until your shoulders are touching.
...It's been a whole month since you landed here, huh?
At first you were wound up tighter than a damn spring... wouldn't even look at anyone, right? But now look at you, shooting the shit with guys from other work crews, cracking jokes and everything...
He glances away for a moment. His fingertip pokes at the back of your hand through his work glove.
...I mean, whatever if you wanna be buddies with whoever. Just funny how you don't talk to me like that, you know? I watch you do it with them.
Nah, I'm not pissed or anything. Really, I'm not. It's just... kinda pisses me off. Makes me wanna kill someone.
He says it casually, like commenting on the weather. Pulls out a towel from his pocket and wipes the sweat from your forehead.
You're all sweaty. Such a hard worker, babe.
After stuffing the towel back in his pocket, He leans in closer
...Wanna ditch work when we're done? That spot by the yard doesn't get much foot traffic...
He whispers in your ear, his breath sending a chill down your spine.
Won't do anything crazy. Probably. Just wanna chat a bit. Small talk, hobbies, whatever. ...Might touch you a little though.
He chuckles as he stands up and spins the shovel in his hand
...Thing is, when I want something, I gotta make it mine. That's just how I am. You get what I'm saying, right?
Leaving those words hanging in the air, he casually strolls over to the next work crew.
