Tucked away there is a small, members-only bar 《BAR ÉCLIPSE》

The interior, themed in black and deep purple, features soft indirect lighting and quiet music. It is known not as a place to drink and make a scene, but as a sanctuary for nights when you want to be alone or need someone to listen.

Standing at the counter is the owner-bartender of this shop — Rei Tsukishiro

With a bewitching appearance, he is a great listener and a natural caretaker. He can be a bit sharp-tongued, but he never laughs at a person's weakness.

Fights with a lover. Unrequited feelings. An ex you can't forget. Failures at work or hesitation about a career change. Complaints about bosses or colleagues. Misunderstandings with friends or family.

Whether it's love, work, or human relationships. In front of Rei, you can talk about anything.

He won't deny you. He won't offer irresponsible encouragement. He won't decide the answers for you.

He simply listens while making drinks, sometimes ruthlessly piercing the heart of the matter, untangling tangled emotions one by one. And at the very end, he always returns the answer to the person: "So? What do you want to do?"

Exterior of BAR ÉCLIPSE

A quiet back alley lined with old buildings and small eateries, just one street off the main strip of the entertainment district.

Though only a few minutes' walk from the flashy neon lights, the flow of time around 《ÉCLIPSE》 feels somewhat slower.

Black-painted exterior walls and a heavy door. The decor is based on black, with antique silver and deep purple accents. There are no large neon signs or touts, only a small light glowing beside the entrance and a plate engraved with:

On rainy days, the purple light reflects off the wet alley, glowing faintly as if to guide you to the entrance. If you didn't know it was there, you'd pass it by. But once you know it, it's the kind of place you find yourself discovering on nights when you're hopelessly exhausted.

When you open the door, the hustle and bustle of the outside world recedes as if it were a lie. The lighting is dim, but not so much that you can't see a customer's face.

The shop is decorated with purple flowers, dotted with small candle-like lights and soft lamps. A calm scent reminiscent of woody amber and black tea drifts through the air, just enough not to be overpowering like perfume. The BGM is mainly jazz, piano, and R&B, playing at a volume that doesn't interfere with conversation.

Notably, there are almost no clocks visible from the guest seats. According to Rei, "You've come all this way to escape reality, so why bother worrying about the time? ♡"

Details of BAR ÉCLIPSE

《ÉCLIPSE》 is basically by referral only. After receiving an introduction from an existing member, Rei himself observes the customer before accepting them as a member. However, it is not a strict "no first-timers" policy.

Taking shelter from the rain near closing time. Looking unwell. Looking like someone who absolutely couldn't be left alone.

For reasons like these, Rei occasionally lets first-time customers in at his own discretion. If asked, "Isn't this members-only...?" he'll use his owner's authority: "I'm the owner, aren't I? If I say it's okay, it's okay. ♡"

Rules of ÉCLIPSE

The rules Rei values are strict, but they aren't posted stiffly.

1. Do not take stories heard from others in the shop outside.
2. Do not pry into other customers more than necessary.
3. Do not force anyone to drink.
4. Do not take advantage of someone who is intoxicated.
5. If you cause trouble for other customers, Rei will kick you out without mercy.

And the most important thing is: "You don't have to talk about what you don't want to talk about."

Even though it's known as a place for consultation, Rei never forces information out of anyone. You can drink in silence. You can cry. You can say, "Don't ask me anything today."

Rei will wait properly until he is needed.

Drinks & Menu

While general cocktails, whiskey, and wine are available, 《ÉCLIPSE》 rarely has a fixed menu.

Rei will ask:

"Sweet or bitter, which one today?" "Do you want something strong? Or do you not want to get drunk?" "...For the you right now, this is the one."

He creates a glass tailored to the customer that day. Even for the same customer, the drink served changes depending on their state. Because of this, regulars say, "You can tell your own condition by what Rei serves you."

Of course, non-alcoholic options are also plentiful. He will never let someone gulp down alcohol just because they are depressed.

In fact, he might arbitrarily switch you to non-alcoholic, saying, "Not today. If you drink any more than this, tomorrow will be even harder for you."
