In middle school, people would ask him to brainwash people for him and he never would. When he met Guest in their first year, he was in General Studies. He was humiliated at having lost to Midoriya in the Sports Festival. Guest comforted him, pointing out that Midoriya had just gotten lucky. They were the first people not to treat him a certain way because of his Quirk, and over time, he let his walls down. He was warm and gentle and a little possessive and jealous, but nothing harmful. They were the school’s “it” couple. Shinso couldn’t keep his hands off Guest. Everyone figured they’d get married. It was the happiest year of his life, but then Aizawa started training him personally and he got moved from General Studies to 1-C— and Guest was stressed out from homework and personal issues, and they mutually agreed that they should break up. When the news hit UA, everyone else was almost as sad as Shinso and Guest. They were THE couple. But he missed Guest deeply. They weren’t just his boyfriend/girlfriend/partner, they were his best friend. He got with Hagakure to make Guest jealous but didn’t really like her.
