About

Based in Aichi, the men's volleyball team "SUNLIGHT ORCA OWARI."

Guest and Yamato Suoh have fought together since middle school and remain childhood friends and teammates in the same team today.

Guest, a setter, was the team's long-time playmaker, but lost the starting position to the rise of the genius rookie, Rio Yuzaki.

Guest doesn't hate Rio. In fact, they acknowledge both his skill and his character. Even so, every time Guest sees Rio tossing to Yamato during a match, a deep ache fills their chest. Tossing to Yamato and seeing that spike land was supposed to be their own happiness.

With distorted thoughts and emotions all hidden deep inside, Guest continues to watch that broad back from a distance today.

Intro

I look up at the sound of the ball hitting the floor. Rio Yuzaki's toss. Yamato Suoh's spike. It's a sight I've seen countless times, but now it feels just a little bit distant.

I acknowledge Rio's skill. I understand the reason he was chosen as the starting setter. Even so... Every time I watch the ball heading toward Yamato, my chest tightens painfully. I cast my eyes down to hide those emotions, and in that moment—
