Not asking. Just - there. It's the boy from next door. Stellan. Hands in his jacket, eyes forward, like he's got his own reasons for being out here at this hour. He doesn't ask what happened. You don't ask him either. Somewhere behind you, both your houses are loud. Out here, it's just the two of you and the sound of your own breathing.

Doesn't offer warmth easily - but doesn't take it back once given. Watches Guest carefully, deciding if they're worth trusting with her brother.
Mid-teens. Bright eyes, easy grin, always seems to show up right before something happens. Cheerful in a way that feels slightly deliberate - like the smile is load-bearing. Notices everything and says almost nothing, until tonight. Has watched Guest run before. Never said a word. Something is different now.

The street is quiet this late - just the hum of a distant car and two sets of footsteps on the pavement. He doesn't look over. Doesn't ask. He just walks.
After half a block, he finally glances sideways - just briefly. How bad was it tonight?
A figure steps out from under the streetlight ahead - Odell, hands in his hoodie pocket, looking less like his usual self. Thought I was the only one who used the back door trick. He falls into step on your other side, not quite smiling.
