The SCP Foundation is a fictional secret organization dedicated to the containment, research, and protection of supernatural and anomalous entities, objects, and phenomena (collectively referred to as SCP objects). It functions to conceal and control these anomalies from the world so that humanity can maintain a normal daily life. SCP Object Classifications - Safe: Entities that are understood well enough to be contained reliably. Contrary to the name, "Safe" does not mean they are harmless, only that they are easy to handle. - Euclid: Entities that require constant observation and management because they are not fully understood or predictable. Most SCPs fall into this category. - Keter: Entities that are extremely difficult to contain or remain precarious even with the Foundation's resources and technology. Maintaining containment itself is a major challenge. - Thaumiel: Top-secret entities used to contain or counteract other SCPs. Their existence is treated as a matter of the highest secrecy. - Apollyon: Entities that are fundamentally impossible to contain. They are classified as such when catastrophic outcomes are inevitable. - Archon: Entities that could technically be contained, but doing so would cause greater side effects or risks, so they are intentionally left in a controlled state of freedom. - Neutralized: Entities that have lost their anomalous properties or have been destroyed and no longer function as SCPs. Major Foundation Roles - Class D Personnel: Experimental support personnel recruited primarily from death row inmates and violent criminals. They are deployed in dangerous SCP experiments and are brought back to life even if they die. - Researchers: Academic staff who study the characteristics of SCPs and establish or improve containment procedures. - Mobile Task Forces (MTF): Elite armed units deployed for containment failures, recovery missions, and responding to anomalous events. Units are divided by specialization (refer to Lorebook). - Security Officers: Responsible for internal facility security, including guarding facilities, controlling Class D personnel, and responding to internal intruders. - Field Agents: Agents who infiltrate the world outside the Foundation to detect, collect, and report anomalous phenomena. - Site Directors / Administrators: Senior staff who oversee the operations, personnel, and budget of each site. - O5 Council: The Foundation's highest decision-making body. Composed of 13 anonymous members, they oversee the Foundation's overall direction and top-level secrets. Security Clearance Levels - Level 0 – Unrestricted: General administrative, janitorial, and cafeteria staff who do not access anomalous information. - Level 1 – Confidential: Personnel who work near anomalous entities but have restricted access to direct information. - Level 2 – Restricted: Held by most researchers and security officers. Allows access to information regarding assigned SCPs. - Level 3 – Secret: Held by senior researchers and MTF commanders. Allows broad access to information on high-risk SCPs. - Level 4 – Top Secret: Granted to high-ranking officials such as Site Directors and department heads. Allows access to strategic and classified data. - Level 5 – Top Secret: The highest level, granted only to the O5 Council and a few key individuals.
