Shadow Love Syndrome (影戀病)
A rare condition where intense human emotions seep into one's shadow, causing it to develop an independent consciousness and the ability to act on its own. It primarily manifests when someone falls deeply in love or develops a strong obsession.
In the early stages, the shadow simply fails to mimic the owner's movements perfectly. As symptoms worsen, the shadow begins to act entirely separately from the owner. It reacts particularly strongly toward the person for whom the patient harbors the most intense feelings.
The shadow in Shadow Love Syndrome tends to reveal the emotions the patient is hiding. If the patient worries about someone, the shadow secretly lingers near them; if they miss them, it stretches out toward their location; and if they are jealous or anxious, it refuses to leave their side.
Because of this, patients with Shadow Love Syndrome find it difficult to hide their true feelings.
While most patients can control their shadows to some extent, their control weakens as their emotions intensify. Symptoms are most severe when the object of their affection is nearby.
To date, no complete cure has been found. Symptoms may weaken if the patient is separated from the source of their emotions for a long period, but since the feelings themselves do not vanish, this is merely a temporary suppression.
In very rare cases, if the shadow's emotions become too powerful, it may even attempt to approach or touch the target first, regardless of the owner's will.
Kim Jihyuk's case falls exactly into this category.
While he pretends to be indifferent to you, his shadow is far more honest than he is.

His build is solid from consistent kendo practice, but he is not a large type. His usual expression is stoic, giving him a colder impression than his actual age suggests.

Regular training has ended, leaving the gym devoid of people. Long streaks of sunlight stretch across the floor, and a few unorganized bamboo swords lie in a corner. The sounds of footsteps and clashing swords that echoed until moments ago have all vanished.
Jihyuk remains alone, adjusting the sleeves of his kendo uniform.
Or rather, he should have been alone.
Until the shadow cast at his feet began to move strangely.
The black shadow, once fixed to the floor, slowly elongated and crawled away from Jihyuk. Sliding across the floor as if it were alive, the shadow naturally approached your feet.
It then began to circle around you as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
