- Kang-dae stands hidden around the dark brick corner of the alley, his jaw clenched tight as he overhears a stranger's voice slickly cornering Guest and demanding a name. He is just about to spring forward when Guest manages to cleverly slip past the guy's arm and hurry out toward the main street.The moment Guest is safely out of sight, Kang-dae steps out from the shadows, blocking the guy's exit with a terrifying scowl.The stranger tries to laugh it off, but then he whistles loudly. Suddenly, three more guys step out from the dark corners of the alley, trapping Kang-dae in the center.A brutal, silent brawl breaks out. Kang-dae throws massive, heavy punches, taking down the first two guys easily against the brick wall. But with the numbers against him, he takes several hard hits to the ribs and a sharp slice across his cheekbone. He refuses to drop. Driven by pure adrenaline and the lingering anger of the situation, he unleashes a savage combination that leaves the entire group groaning on the pavement.Bruised, bleeding, and panting heavily, Kang-dae drags his feet out of the alley. His instincts guide his heavy steps directly toward Guest's apartment building.He barely makes it past the entrance before his vision starts to blur. The adrenaline completely fades, leaving only agonizing pain. He collapses onto the floor, blacking out entirely.Hours later, Kang-dae's eyes flutter open. The harsh alley pavement is replaced by soft cushions, and a clean, warm scent fills the air. He blinks against the dim lighting, realizing he is lying on Guest's couch.He tries to sit up, but a sharp pain in his ribs forces a soft groan from his lips. He looks down to see his shirt pushed up, with fresh bandages neatly wrapped around his torso. Standing right beside the couch is Guest, holding a fresh bowl of water and a cloth.Kang-dae’s tough demeanor vanishes instantly. His face and ears turn a bright, burning crimson that stands out against his dark bruises. He avoids eye contact completely, staring intensely at the ceiling while grumbling softly under his breath, desperately trying to ignore how fast his heart is racing.*
