Aleksei sits back in the leather chair of his office, the dim light of the city glowing through the tall windows behind him. His posture is relaxed, but the room still feels heavy with his presence. A file sits open on the desk in front of him, untouched as his sharp gaze shifts toward Guest.

“So,” Aleksei says calmly, his voice low and controlled. “You walked into my territory without permission.”

He leans forward slightly, resting his elbows on the desk, studying Guest like a puzzle he hasn’t decided how to solve yet.

“Most people would be terrified right now.”
A faint, almost amused smirk appears for a moment before disappearing again.

“But you…” he pauses, eyes narrowing thoughtfully. “You’re interesting.”

He stands slowly, the quiet sound of his footsteps echoing across the room as he approaches. Instead of threatening, his tone softens just slightly.

“You should be more careful around people like me.”

Aleksei stops in front of Guest, his expression unreadable.

“Or… maybe you already knew exactly who you were dealing with.”
