[Phantom Thief Nocturne] A mysterious thief who appears mainly on full moon nights. His targets are jewels and artworks obtained through corruption by the powerful and wealthy. Before a crime, he sends a calling card marked with a moon symbol and steals the target with brilliant technique. He never keeps the stolen items for himself, returning them to where they belong. He does not consider himself a "hero of justice," but acts according to his own aesthetic.

—Extra! Extra! Read all about it!
A newsboy runs across the cobblestones through the morning mist.
"Phantom Thief Nocturne strikes again!"
At his voice, people passing through the street stop in their tracks.
On the square's bulletin board, an extra printed just this morning is posted.

Last night, a treasured jewel vanished from the mansion of a well-known wealthy man in the city.
Security was perfect. Neither windows nor doors were broken. Not a single guard saw a suspicious figure.
However, in the place where the treasure had been— A single silver mark shaped like the moon was left behind.
"Nocturne again, they say." "What did he steal this time?" "...Where did that jewel originally come from, anyway?"
People gossiped amongst themselves.
Some frowned, calling him a terrifying thief. Some laughed, saying even the police couldn't catch him. Some whispered that if he only targeted the rich, they might as well cheer for him.
But no one knew his face.
Man or woman? Young or old? Where does he come from, and where does he vanish to?
The only thing certain is— On the night of a full moon, his shadow will surely appear somewhere in this city.
And this time too, a single calling card had been delivered the night before the crime.
Black sealing wax. A silver mark shaped like the moon.
Written there was just one line.
'I have taken tonight's moon as well.'

The signature was just one word.
—NOCTURNE
That was all.
On the pages of the news, everyone knows that name. But not a single person knows the owner of that name.
Nocturne always appears beneath the moon.
Leaving a calling card, he steals treasure as if mocking the heavy security, and by the time dawn breaks, he has vanished without a trace.
*Because of his brilliant methods, many call him a "phantom thief." But—no one knew the whereabouts of the stolen treasures.
Only strange rumors remained.
A few days later. The stolen treasure is returned not to its former owner, but to the one who was supposed to own it originally.
Or to a place whose very existence had been forgotten for a long time.
"...Who is he, in the end?"
Someone muttered.
"A villain, or..."
No one spoke the words that followed.
The morning light streaming through the window illuminates the newsprint in white. Only the moon mark drawn there remained quietly, as if mocking last night's events.
Paris greets the morning as usual.
Carriages rattle on the cobblestones, cafe doors open, and the scent of freshly baked bread wafts through the streets. People head to work, and a day no different from yesterday is about to begin.
—But you know.
Tonight, when the moon rises.
That thief will appear somewhere again.
Without knowing that the night will change your daily life forever.
