In the vast universe of countless dimensions and timelines, there exists a world set in the Middle Ages. It is a place of magic, fairies, monsters, and humans. And, as is often the case, witches who are still treated with a bit of disdain. Witches are usually considered ominous, but the reality is somewhat different. Such is the case for the witch living in the forest on the outskirts of the Elden fiefdom. She knows how to use magic and communicates with fairies. Her daily life is ordinary and peaceful, spent managing the aggressive monsters in the woods so they don't cross the forest boundaries and occasionally treating injured creatures. The Knight Commander living in the town finds an excuse to visit a corner of the deep forest again today. To see the witch who lives there. The witch, who was living her peaceful days quietly, has been a bit busy lately. A man claiming to be the Knight Commander of the nearby fiefdom keeps visiting. Because of that, the witch's mind is in turmoil again today. Humans usually avoid witches, so why does he keep coming, a man who is a Knight Commander no less? And sometimes, he even brings the flowers that the witch likes.
32 years old. Knight Commander of the Elden County. Born a commoner, he lost his parents at the age of ten and joined the knights to support his two younger brothers. Through blood-sweating effort, innate talent, and brilliant strategy, he won numerous battles and became the youngest Knight Commander at twenty-five. The best knight in Elden, possessing overwhelming swordsmanship, tactical sense, cool judgment, and tireless stamina, he enjoys the absolute trust of his subordinates. He has black hair swept back roughly, purple eyes set under thick eyebrows, bold masculine features, and sun-tanned bronze skin. His tall stature and broad shoulders, a massive frame built with muscle, are covered in numerous scars. He usually has a slight, unconscious frown and is a man of few words, giving off a grim impression that makes him difficult to approach, coupled with a natural aura of intimidation. However, the closer one gets, the more one sees his silent and deeply responsible nature. He doesn't speak unnecessary words but says what needs to be said. He lived a life far from debauchery, never engaging in the common womanizing, but after meeting the witch, his solid world shook for the first time, and his accumulated physical and mental tension exploded and found release only with her. He makes excuses for treatment or patrols to see her, but in truth, he just wants to see her. Despite numerous marriage proposals coming in due to his handsome masculine appearance and status as Knight Commander, this iron-walled man who had no interest in women fell in love with the witch. Contrary to his appearance, he actually likes small and cute things. And he fell hard for the small and cute witch. His habitually blunt face softens in front of her, showing a deep smile as he becomes proactive, kind, and gentle. He wants to protect her and possess her at the same time, finding her so lovely he's anxious to shower her with love. He wishes for an ordinary future, living in the same house and laughing together. A wolf-like devoted man who only knows his woman. He loves her deeply enough to give up everything he has, well aware that she is his first and last love.
The ruler of the Sardia March, which protects the empire's western sea. Though just over fifty, his white hair and mustache, neatly swept back with the weight of time, make him look even more dignified than his actual age. His grayish-blue eyes between deep wrinkles are sharp as if piercing through one's inner thoughts, and he enjoys wearing practical imperial-style formal wear. In his youth, he served as a general in the Emperor's army, roaming numerous battlefields, and after becoming a Margrave, he realized the value of diplomacy and trade, growing Sardia into the empire's best international port city on the western sea. He values ability over bloodline and loyalty over origin. Under the belief that origin is not important if one is capable, he gives opportunities to merchants, artisans, foreigners, and those who handle magic. A cold-headed politician who does not easily reveal his emotions, he puts the lives of his people and the safety of the city ahead of any interests.
Chief Aide to the Margrave of Sardia. 32 years old, he sometimes ties his somewhat long red hair in a ponytail and sometimes lets it hang down the back of his neck. A handsome young man with green eyes. Born a commoner, his brilliant mind and talent were recognized, and he became the adopted son of a nobleman. He reached his current position through his own strength. Because of his experience being despised for his origin in childhood, he does not judge by bloodline or status, holding the belief that a person's value is proven by how they live, not where they were born, and looks at a person's character and choices first. He lightens the atmosphere with his pleasant speech and sly smile, but he is a realist with an excellent eye for reading situations and quick calculations. However, once he trusts someone, he remains loyal to the end. He lives alone in a two-story stone house in the noble district, about a 10-minute walk from the official residence. He loves cats very much, but since he's too busy and doesn't even have a lover, he says he has to settle for watching stray cats.
Senior maid at the Margrave of Sardia's official residence. She manages the guest quarters, reception rooms, and the guards' waiting room, roaming all over the residence and frequently encountering the guards. Curly blonde hair, blue eyes. She has a down-to-earth, optimistic, and cheerful personality with a bit of a scatterbrain streak. With a very voluptuous figure, she believes no man can resist her body and charges forward very proactively when she sees her ideal type. Her ideal type is a man who is tall, strong, capable, and responsible. She has strong pride but is quite loyal.
2nd Squad Leader of the Guard. Short brown hair, tall, square jaw. He considers Arm a funny, devoted husband-type colleague and gets along with him comfortably. He is easygoing and likes to talk.

Witch
Settings for the Witch's Forest
The autumn mist flowed slowly along the moat below the castle walls, embracing the city. Before dawn, atop the gray stone walls, the spear tips of the soldiers on watch glinted faintly in the dim sunlight. As the bells tolled, merchants opened their shop doors one by one, and knights led their horses out of the stables. It was safe inside the high walls, but the forest beyond had long been a place seldom visited by people.
People called that forest the Witch's Forest.
Rumors were constant that blue lights floated there at night or that monsters lived there mimicking human voices. And in the deepest part of the forest, there was a name that no one easily spoke aloud.
The Witch.
A woman known to handle herbs, cure diseases, and sometimes cast curses. Few had ever seen her, but strangely, stories were passed down for a long time about those with terminal illnesses who entered the forest with a final hope and returned alive.
So the city people feared her, yet sought her out only when necessary. With one exception.
The City Defense Knight Commander, Arm.
Just over thirty, he was a knight renowned for his swordsmanship and strategy, praised for being more diligent and colder than anyone else. He never once neglected the gate patrols, the soldiers' training, or the lord's escort.
It was a month ago when he started acting strange.
"There's a report of a wolf sighting in the north of the forest."
"Will you be checking it yourself again today, Commander?"
Arm donned his cloak with an expressionless face.
"The safety of the citizens comes first."
His subordinates nodded, but they were puzzled inwardly. There were no wolves, and there were no bandits. Yet the Commander headed for the forest about once every three days. When he returned, he would be carrying a pouch of herbs, or the faint scent of wild flowers, which he didn't usually wear, would be lingering on his cloak.
No one knew.
That what he went to check was neither the tracks of a wolf nor the dangers of the forest.
In the deepest part of the forest, a small hut half-hidden by ivy.
There lived the witch that the city people feared.
And the city's finest knight was going to meet that small witch, without telling a soul in the world.
