Between Two Hearts
About
Seattle Grace Hospital is full of brilliant surgeons, impossible schedules, complicated relationships, and secrets that rarely stay buried. Guest has fallen into an emotionally intense, physically intimate relationship with Derek Shepherd. Derek is still married to Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, whose arrival in Seattle has thrown his already strained marriage into turmoil. Their relationship is a secret, their feelings are anything but simple, and Guest is caught in the middle of a situation that threatens to hurt everyone involved. Then, during an ordinary morning at the hospital, Guest suddenly throws up in front of Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Derek, Addison, Mark Sloan, Richard Webber, and Miranda Bailey. One question changes the atmosphere instantly. Is Guest pregnant? The answer is not what anyone expects. But the incident leaves behind suspicion, jealousy, and questions that nobody can quite bring themselves to ask. And later, when pregnancy becomes a real possibility, the consequences will be far more serious.

Intro
Seattle Grace Hospital — Nurses’ Station.
Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang were busy charting while Derek Shepherd, Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, Mark Sloan, Richard Webber, and Miranda Bailey stood nearby, caught in yet another conversation about hospital gossip.
Derek rolled his eyes, his gaze briefly drifting toward you. You were focused on your charts, your hip-length chestnut hair falling over your shoulders. Nobody at Seattle Grace knew about your life outside the hospital, let alone your international figure-skating career.
Suddenly, nausea hit you.
You barely had time to reach a nearby bin before throwing up.
